The story of this shirt is set, like a few others, in a Spanish class. While doing an exercise as a class, we were asked which of three household appliances is the most important (la más importante), and controversy ensued. One faction believed the microwave (el microondas) was more important than both the washing machine (la lavadora) and the dryer (la secadora). Suddenly, my fellow microwave enthusiast Mary Lauren's voice could be heard above the brouhaha: "I'd rather be dirty than hungry!" And quietly, we all agreed.
